Ingredients:

1/4    cup(s)    Raw Sugar
1    tsp(s)    Cinnamon
1/2    tsp(s)    Ginger
to taste / pinch    Sea Salt
4    each    Apple(s) cored and sliced
2    tsp(s)    100% Lemon Juice fresh
2/3    cup(s)    Flour, Whole Spelt
2/3    cup(s)    Raw Brown Sugar (Turbinado) firmly packed
1/2    cup(s)    Butter, unsalted cut up
2/3    cup(s)    Oats uncooked
2/3    cup(s)    Walnuts or pecans (optional)


Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F.
For the Apple Filling
1. Combine the sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt in a large bowl.
2. Add the apples and lemon juice, tossing to coat.
4. Arrange the fruit in an even layer in a shallow 3-quart glass baking dish.
For Oat Topping
1. Combine the flour and brown sugar in a medium bowl.
2. With a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Stir in the oats and walnuts (nuts are optional).

-- Sprinkle Apple Filling with Oat Topping.
-- Bake about 40 minutes or until bubbly.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
